Before applying your lipstick you want to make sure
that your lips are well exfoliated and moisturized to avoid creases and clumps
in your lipstick.
Firstly, you do not want to play up both your eyes and
your lips; you have to choose. If you wear both heavy eyes and lips you will
look like a clown. If you wear a bright lip color, keep your eyes neutral and
vice versa.
There isn’t any rule to applying lipstick. You can
apply it with a lip brush, straight from the tube or with your fingers. As long
as the color goes onto your lips, you’re good.
When wearing lipstick, you obviously want it to last as
long as possible. For it to stay all day, a trick is to use lip liner as a
base. Line your lips and then fill them in. Apply your lipstick overtop and it
will last much longer than it would on its own.
If you want to make your lips appear fuller or “plump”,
outline your lips with a lip liner just outside your natural lip line. Then dab
a little bit of gloss in the middle of your bottom lip. This will give you full
plump Angelina Jolie like lips.
When applying lipstick, you would normally apply a lip
liner before or after. It is most commonly applied before lipstick but some
people apply it afterwards to clean up the edges. But a little tip for you,
your lips will look more natural when you apply lip liner after your lipstick. But
one ultimate rule is to never wear dark lip liner with a lighter color
lipstick. This is a big mistake and you will look tacky and quite frankly, like
a clown.
It is always horrible when you get lipstick on your
teeth. But don’t worry, I have a trick. Put your index finger in your mouth
then pull it out. The excess lipstick that would have gone on your teeth is now
on your finger.
If you have yellower teeth, try a lipstick with blue
undertones. This will cancel out the yellowness in your teeth using
complementary colors.
Now all there is left to do is go out and buy the
perfect lipstick for you! :)
